Vaughan Merlyn

Vaughan Merlyn brings over 35 years of IT strategy and management experience as an IT industry executive, researcher, author, educator and management consultant. He has focused on raising business value realized from IT, converging business and IT capabilities, and the implementation of technology-enabled change. His career experience and perspective bring together the disciplines of IT management, collaboration and organizational change management into a powerful combination. Vaughan participates in multi-company research projects, advises Fortune 500 companies, and provides Executive Education.


Vaughan’s publications include Development Effectiveness: Strategies for IS Organizational Transition (co-authored with John Parkinson) published by John Wiley & Sons, The Annual CASE Report, published by CASE Research, and numerous articles on organizational change and IT management. He is a popular management educator, and has addressed over 450 major conferences and seminars throughout the world.  Previously Vaughan was a partner at Ernst & Young’s Center for Business Innovation, where he headed the firm’s global research into IT effectiveness and business change implementation. He received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Salford in the United Kingdom.


Herbert (Bart) W. Perkins III

Bart Perkins helps organizations address their IT challenges.  Typical engagements include: formulating a global IT Strategy, reducing IT costs, evaluating outsourcing decisions, developing business cases, ranking proposed projects in priority sequence.  Bart has over 25 years experience leading IT efforts in a variety of industries including hospitality, retail, consumer products, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, health care, and financial services.    


Bart was the CIO of YUM! Brands (parent to KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, A&W, and Long John Silver.) and earlier the CIO of Dole Food Company.  He began his career at Nolan Norton & Co. and became a Partner in KPMG Peat Marwick when Nolan Norton was acquired.  Bart currently sits on the boards of i360 Technologies, NarrowCast, American Printing House for the Blind, and the University of Louisville Computer Engineering Department.  He speaks at a variety of industry events and is a Computerworld columnist.
